With an area of 1634 m², this square is located in the Loreto neighbourhood, put together as a green space for the recreation of the neighbourhood.

It owes its name to the famous musician and composer Antonio Escobar Perera, the “Maestro Escobar”, as he was popularly known by all the people of Cadiz. The famous Cadiz-born composer actually wrote the Cadiz Football Club Anthem, which is still used today. He plays an important role within the recent music history of the city, having written not only the football anthem but also for the production of music and music used in processional marches.
